Construction Site Superintendent – Multi-Family RehabilitationLocation: Concord, CAEmployment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeCompensation: Competitive - $100,000–$125,000 (DOE) + bonus + profit sharingOverviewA well-established General Contractor specializing in multi-family, affordable housing, and hospitality projects is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead field operations across projects in the East Bay Area. This role will initially be responsible for managing day-to-day jobsite activities on a 130+ unit rehabilitation project kicking off in June with an approximately 14-month schedule, including both interior and exterior scopes. The position requires strong leadership in coordinating subcontractors, overseeing self-perform work, and driving schedule, safety, and quality on a fast-paced, active jobsite.Must HavesMinimum 5+ years of experience as a Construction Site Superintendent managing ground-up or large-scale renovation projectsStrong experience leading field operations on multi-family, affordable housing, or hospitality construction projectsStrong leadership and communication skills with the ability to direct crews and coordinate with field and office teamsWorking knowledge of safety regulations and ability to enforce jobsite safety standards consistentlyProficiency with construction management tools such as Procore and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents accuratelyNice to HavesExperience managing self-performed work in trades such as framing, concrete, or finishesBackground working on occupied or phased rehabilitation projectsFamiliarity with affordable housing compliance and inspection processesExperience coordinating large unit-turn or renovation scopes (100+ units)Knowledge of local Northern California building codes and jurisdictionsAbility to mentor assistant superintendents or field engineersResponsibilitiesOversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completionDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules, including 3-week look-ahead schedulesCoordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow and sequencingManage daily jobsite operations for a large-scale 130+ unit rehabilitation projectEnforce jobsite safety standards and conduct regular safety meetings and inspectionsEnsure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standardsLead coordination of interior and exterior scopes across multiple active work areasManage and direct self-perform work crews where applicableIdentify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays proactivelyConduct daily site walks and document progress, issues, and safety complianceCollaborate with the Project Manager on schedule updates, RFIs, and change ordersCoordinate inspections with local agencies and ensure compliance with all codes and regulationsMaintain accurate daily reports, logs, and jobsite documentationFacilitate subcontractor meetings and ensure clear communication across all tradesDrive project completion on schedule while maintaining high standards of quality and safetySupport project closeout activities including punch lists and final inspectionsThis is an opportunity to join a growing and reputable General Contractor with a strong pipeline of work across Northern California, offering long-term career growth and the ability to lead impactful, community-focused projects.
