Position SummaryThe Metrology Technician will interact with team members to ensure compliance and internal and external customer requirements are met, with focus on metrology and calibration. This will be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.Principle ResponsibilitiesCalibration of measuring instruments - Verify and adjust measuring tools to ensure accurate results.Assist in development of measurement procedures - Create methods for measuring things accurately and reliably.Maintenance of measuring equipment - Repair and maintain measuring tools to keep them working properly.Training and technical support - Teach others how to use measurement tools and help them with problems.Technology watch - Keep abreast of new measurement technologies.Collaboration with other departments - Work with other teams to ensure that products and processes meet quality standards.Assist with GR&R / MSA studies.Credentials/ExperienceQualification RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience/Educational/Training PreferredASQ Certification preferred2 years’ experience in quality within medical device manufacturing industry preferredISO 13485, FDA 820 and customer interaction experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesIn-depth knowledge of measurement principles.Metrology tools and software.Manufacturing operations - forging and/or machining.Quality Systems.Regulations - FDA, GMP and ISO.Blueprint reading.Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Other RequirementsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
