The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Position SummaryUnder general direction, the Porter is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and the grounds area.ResponsibilitiesCleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds complex: elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms.Trimming trees and shrubs, and lawn maintenance.Sweeps and hoses sidewalks.Removes snow and spreads salt as needed.Heavy lifting may be required.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma and/or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of building and grounds maintenance is a plus.Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / VeteranColumbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
