Title: HR Business PartnerType: Contract-to-HireDuration: 80 WeeksLocation: Southern Rhode IslandSchedule: HybridPosition Overview:Our client is seeking an HR Business Partner to support day-to-day HR operations while acting as a trusted resource for managers and employees across the organization. This is a strong fit for an HR professional with solid employee relations, performance management, and generalist HR experience who is looking to grow within a business partner-focused environment.This individual will work closely with HR leadership and internal centers of excellence to support workforce planning, employee relations matters, organizational initiatives, and HR operations across the business.Key Responsibilities:HR Business Partner / Generalist SupportServe as a go-to HR resource for managers and employees regarding policies, procedures, and employment-related questionsProvide guidance on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, documentation, and day-to-day HR supportPartner with Talent Acquisition on staffing efforts and workforce planning initiativesSupport organizational structure updates, position changes, and job description developmentAssist with compensation-related inquiries in coordination with HR leadershipEmployee Relations / Performance ManagementManage routine employee relations matters and escalate more complex situations when neededSupport managers with performance management processes including coaching, documentation, corrective action, and employee feedback conversationsAssist with investigations, documentation collection, and follow-up actionsEnsure fair and consistent application of HR policies and workplace practicesSupport union-related HR processes and work within Collective Bargaining Agreement guidelines where applicableOrganizational Support / Change ManagementAssist with organizational changes, restructures, and workforce adjustmentsSupport internal communication efforts tied to organizational initiativesContribute to employee engagement, culture, and team effectiveness initiativesCompliance / HR OperationsEnsure compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and internal proceduresSupport HR programs including benefits, leave administration, ADA/FMLA, and related employee support processesMaintain accurate HR records and documentationUtilize HRIS systems (Workday preferred) for employee data management and reportingReporting / AnalyticsGenerate HR reports and track workforce metrics including turnover, employee relations trends, and staffing activitySupport leadership with workforce reporting and data analysisQualifications:Bachelor’s degree required3+ years of progressive HR experience in HR Generalist, Employee Relations, or HRBP environmentsStrong employee relations and performance management experienceWorking knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and HR best practicesExperience coaching managers through workplace issues and employee documentationHRIS experience required; Workday experience strongly preferredStrong communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience in union environments / exposure to Collective Bargaining Agreements is a plus
