Kitchen Manager - Weekends (& Nights added later)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly weekend Kitchen manager that has the appropriate certifications. This person must be willing to start with paid 8-10 hours a week during a trial period. Upon completion of training we plan to consider expanding hours and independence, with the right hire. In this role, you will be the face of our grocery store and deli, providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently and accurately handling transactions and customer orders. Attention to detail and a positive attitude are imperative. Your responsibilities will include attendtion to detail, cleanliness, managing the cash register, assisting with product demonstrations, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all patrons. Must new able to lift 40lbs on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
Making food, taking orders and cleaning dishes.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently for customer transactions.
Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
Assist in merchandising and stocking products on shelves to ensure the store is well-organized and appealing.
Conduct product demos to showcase new items and encourage sales.
Utilize effective phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries via phone.
Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase sales.
Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support as needed.

Skills
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Commercial cooking experience required.
Time management and focus is crucial, shop work is interrupted frequently as we stop to check customers out and to catch up with our shop regulars.
Experience in retail sales or cashiering, with a solid understanding of retail math.
Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
Ability to perform merchandising tasks including stocking shelves and organizing displays.
Bilingual abilities are a plus, Spanish and ASL especially, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base.
Previous supervising and kitchen managing experience is beneficial for those looking to advance within the company.
