Location: Joint Base Anacosta-Bolling (JBAB), Washington DC - 100% on site (with ad-hoc telework) Shift: Core hours: 6 am - 6 pm; Shift: 10 am - 6 pm (M-F); After hours support - Required (Duty phone will rotate between team members). Certifications required: * Requires a current 8140 IAT Level II (Intermediate or Advanced) certificate (Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) /Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security) Security Clearance * Active DOD Secret clearance Essential Job Functions * Monitor networks for various messages, alarms, or issues * Identify issues or problems, resolving as appropriate or escalating when necessary * Troubleshoot issues utilizing script-based methods or standard, routine procedures, escalating as appropriate * Interface with higher-level support units (26th NOS/DISA) to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance * Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs) as directed by leadership * Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoW/local command mandates and requirements, to include application of updates, STIGs, IOS-XE upgrades, and other basic network security requirements as needed * Configure, manage, and troubleshoot TACLANEs (e.g., KG-175G/D/F) to secure data in-transit across classified and unclassified networks (e.g., SIPRNet/NIPRNet) * Serve as the final escalation point for complex issues involving routing, switching, network security, and * Perform packet capture analysis and root cause analysis as needed. * Provide constructive, actionable feedback to improve and prevent future issues * Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and required compliance artifacts * Support special projects and day-to-day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers * Support on-call rotation schedule Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of related experience, additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree * 7-10+ years of experience in network engineering, with a significant focus on secure, large-scale enterprise environments * Requires a current 8140 IAT Level II (Intermediate or Advanced) certificate (Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Enterprise or Security * Proven experience working within a DoD or defense contractor environment is mandatory * Demonstrable, hands-on experience with deployment, fabric management, and automation workflows using Cisco DNAC * Expertise in architecture, policy creation, and troubleshooting for wired and wireless 1X using Cisco ISE * Proficiency in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of HAIPE devices * Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies * In-depth knowledge of DISA STIGs for network devices Preferred Qualifications * Understanding of IPv6 to include configuration and common notation/nomenclature * Experience working in air-gapped and/or classified network environments (e.g., SIPRNet) is highly desirable * Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR * Experienced working at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Bolling
