Spatial Design Specialist, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $100,000/year USD
You enter a room and immediately recognize whether it feels refined or improvised. You register the warmth of the lighting, the arrangement of furniture, the presence of visible cables, how densely seating is packed, and the overall atmosphere. Once you notice what's misaligned, you can't ignore it. If you're ready to establish the visual and sensory identity of a "high-performance school," this role offers that opportunity.
2 Hour Learning is creating AI-powered private schools in which students complete core academics in two hours daily, then transition to afternoons focused on life skills and self-directed learning. As campuses open nationwide, the physical space must reflect the mission: composed, deliberate, unconventional, and distinctly premium. This position defines that benchmark and ensures it can be replicated consistently at every location.
You will establish the design framework, translate it into spatial plans that challenge conventional classroom layouts, and document standards to preserve brand integrity during growth. This is not about coordinating vendors or managing facilities operations. It is focused, taste-driven design executed quickly under real constraints with clear accountability.
If you possess the discernment to set a new category standard and the discipline to deliver without compromise, we should connect.
What You Will Be Doing
Develop comprehensive design vision packages for campuses (philosophy, mood boards, material selections, lighting character, furniture guidance) that convey premium quality and sidestep traditional school aesthetics
Generate detailed spatial layouts that support adaptable learning areas, intuitive circulation, and coherent lighting and environmental strategies
Establish and update design standards and boundaries that ensure uniformity across campuses while allowing adaptation to varied floor plans
Execute rapid design refinements on active campuses by identifying retrofit opportunities and producing ranked action lists that enhance finish quality without stalling openings
What You Won't Be Doing
Coordinating vendors, selecting contractors, or handling procurement tasks
Supervising construction, maintenance, or senior-level facilities management
Creating "attractive" conventional private school interiors featuring bold primary palettes and institutional surfaces
Pursuing flawless outcomes at the expense of launch schedules
