Desktop Support Specialist

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Desktop Support Specialist for our client, a fully accredited laboratory specializing in a range of health-related testing services. This is a contract position based onsite in Portland, OR.POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a reliable Desktop Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical assistance in a general office environment. This role is responsible for maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring employees have the tools they need to work efficiently.PERKSBe the go-to IT resource supporting all levels of the business, including leadershipTake full ownership of issues while building experience across M365, Intune, Azure AD, and endpoint securityWork across desktop, mobile, security, and networking in a dynamic, real-world environmentRESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other office equipmentInstall, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and updatesTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely mannerAssist users with login issues, password resets, and system accessSet up and deploy new workstations and user accountsMaintain documentation of support activities and system configurationsCollaborate with IT team members to resolve more complex technical problemsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experienceStrong understanding of Windows and/or macOS environmentsFamiliarity with common office software and toolsBasic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Excellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and provide support in a fast-paced office settingCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSThis contract position offers an hourly rate of $20-25/HR, commensurate with experience.
