Production Associate/Masking Technician

Masking TechnicianQPS Employment Group is hiring for a company in Elk Grove Village. As a Masking Technician, you'll work with precision aerospace components, follow detailed engineering specifications, and develop valuable manufacturing skills in a highly regulated environment.Masking Technician Responsibilities:Apply masking materials to aerospace parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and process specificationsUse sharp cutting tools safely to prepare masking materialsWork with solvents under controlled exposure conditions, following safety protocolsProduce products that match first article masking samples consistentlyComplete shop documentation accurately and promptly, including work orders, inspection reports, process techniques, and first articlesCollaborate with peers and cross-functional teams involved in de-masking, inspection, and chemical processingParticipate in ongoing training, process improvement initiatives, and periodic performance reviewsRequirements for Masking Technician:High School Diploma or GEDAbility to interpret engineering drawings after trainingProficient use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipersBasic understanding of spec pretreatments including anodize, chem film, passivation, phosphate, cadmium, and abrasive blastingPhysical capacity to see small details clearly, with or without correctionGood dexterity in hands, wrists, and fingers to handle parts and masking tools without damageCapable of standing for extended periods and handling parts of varying sizes and weightsAbility to lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds regularlyBasic computer skills and arithmetic proficiencyBilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plusIND133 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
