Baler Operator
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Baler Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating baling equipment to compress and package recyclable materials and waste products. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and commitment to safety will ensure smooth production processes while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Shift: 1st Shift (7am to 3pm) and 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am) Available
Starting Wage: $18.00 an Hour
Duties
Operate baling machines to compress recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastics, and metals into manageable bales for storage or shipment
Inspect incoming materials and ensure all bales are clean, properly sorted, and compliant with facility specifications.
Use forklifts and skid loaders to transport materials within the facility
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on balers and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
Assist with loading and unloading materials on the lines using heavy machinery, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
Maintain cleanliness of work areas by removing debris, sorting recyclables, and ensuring sanitation standards are met
Conduct safety checks before operation, including verifying equipment functionality and inspecting for hazards
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE guidelines.
Qualifications
Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or balers in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
Knowledge of recycling processes, waste management procedures, or sanitation practices is preferred
Strong attention to safety protocols and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Excellent physical stamina with the capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly and effectively
