As a painter, you will become a member of the team that lives daily the team culture, understands, and accepts plant policy, procedures, and practices. Your daily tasks often include operating a spray applicator and/or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on engines or component parts via mixing paints and other solutions, monitoring drying to ensure desired quality results.Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToWork in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused team environment to perform various assembly processes.Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defectsInspect parts and materials to ensure they are free from quality defectsPaint engines or component parts per work instructions, standard operating procedures, blueprints, risk assessment, and job routingConduct operations level maintenance on all paint systems and equipment: paint kitchen, 2KS, paint booth, hoods, guns, etc.Complete daily production logs to meet environmental and safety standardsMaintain operator performed maintenance (OPM) and routine housekeeping (5S) and perform activities to eliminate workplace hazards and handling of hazardous wasteIdentify and relay information for correction on discrepancies in affected assembly processes, safety, quality, and production issuesPrioritize work to meet production schedulesDisassembly and clean paint gun and other equipmentFlexibility to work across other value streamsPrioritize reliability and quality awareness All other duties as assigned Basic QualificationsPrevious paint application experience within a manufacturing settingTop Candidates Will Also HaveBasic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Applications (basic skills/knowledge - capable of functioning independently)Basic understanding of both hand and air (pneumatic) toolingPrevious experience in an automotive, paint or body setting or similar application experience Basic understanding of blueprintsPrevious experience with compliant spray equipmentInterest in becoming a power trainerPhysical RequirementsJob may be physically demanding at times and must be able to handle high volume fast paced operation.Comfort with heights and utilization of ladders and liftsAbility to sit or stand for prolonged periodsAbility to perform repetitive operationsAbility to lift up to 35 poundsWill be required to wear a detail suit with hood and/or respirator.Will require respirator physical and trainingMust be able to wear proper PPE. May be required to lift/push/pull heavy parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift.Must be able to stand for up to 10+ hours per shift.IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THIS POSITION!!!
