Mental Health Clinician
Purpose: (General description and summary)
The Mental Health Clinician provides behavioral health services including therapy, case management, and care coordination to individuals at the Mill Park Center who are also serving jurisdictions under the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB). The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring services to individuals based on their individual goals and medical necessity. The focus of this position includes safety stabilization in the community, ensuring consumers have access to services that support their overall wellness, advocating that individual rights and dignities be upheld, empowering individuals to achieve their individual goals, and ensuring folks are able to move towards increased independence. This position is also responsible for the forensic monitoring of their caseload including frequent assessment of individual and global criminogenic factors to ensure participants are meeting conditions of release and upholding community safety.
Accountabilities: (Responsibilities of the job)
Evaluate potential clients for suitability to conditional release to New Narratives PSRB program
Assess the functional level and program needs of each individual and design appropriate conditional release plan
Develop individual service and support plan in partnership with individuals goals and provide all service delivery as specified by the plan
Assist in connecting consumers to resource that support their overall wellness
Provide individual counseling as needed
Facilitate group therapy sessions
Work with individual to design crisis plan and proactively avoid unnecessary use of crisis services
Address any symptoms that may lead to revocation and coordinate with State Hospital, PSRB staff, law enforcement, and any other involved parties in the case of revocation situations
Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with Conditional Release Plan and complete monthly reports for stakeholders in a timely manner
Develop relationships with providers and stakeholders to facilitate service provision
Assist with eligibility for benefits and assure funding for needed services
Testify at PSRB Hearings
Conduct home visits to clients in residential, semi-independent and independent placements
Observe Urine Drug Screens as necessary
Manage the on-call phone on a rotating basis with other members of the team
Help to establish an atmosphere of safety and security that inspires trust and confidence in program participants
Document all consumer contacts, with the aim that this be done concurrently.
Utilize the ACORN website to provide outcome-informed care
Administration:
Document all service delivery in electronic health record within 48 hours of service
Complete monthly compliance reports of conditional requirements and submit to the PSRB office
Complete LSI, LOCUS and other residential reports
Other General Expectations:

Pursue ongoing development of skills and competencies.
Follow all corporate policies, procedures, and protocols
Maintain current Oregon Drivers License
Follow through on all directives and instructions
Maintain security of all corporate interests
Maintain CPR and First Aid Certificate

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration:
Qualified Mental Health Professional (or ability to obtain upon hire) with a Masters Degree in social work or related field is required.
Experience:
One year experience working in community mental health providing case management and/or behavior health treatment, particularly with individuals with persistent mental illness (preferred).
Multi-lingual preferred

Ability to navigate nuances of working within an integrated setting including working as part of a multidisciplinary team and understanding of various roles as well as opportunities for overlap/mutual support.

New Narrative, Inc. residential treatment and clinical services are an essential part of New Narrative, Inc. overall continuum of service and supports. As a member of the clinical team, providing services in a pilot project integrating care in a residential treatment home setting, the Mental Health Clinician will help to insure best practices, positive clinical outcomes, and quality of services while supporting development of an integrated model and through continuous review of efficacy.
