Project Manager – Industrial Construction (Power / Chemical / Mechanical)
Nelpro is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a critical industrial construction project at an active power/chemical facility. This role will lead day-to-day execution from mobilization through closeout, ensuring performance across safety, quality, schedule, and cost control.
Responsibilities
Lead project execution and coordinate all phases of work from startup through completion
Manage subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and material/equipment needs
Develop and maintain project schedules, look-ahead plans, and production tracking
Monitor job costs, forecasting, and budget performance
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
Lead progress meetings and provide clear reporting to stakeholders
Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, work permitting, and quality standards
Support billing, invoice review, and project closeout deliverables
Required Experience
Project management experience in power generation, chemical, or industrial plant environments
Strong understanding of industrial jobsite safety and compliance requirements
Proven ability to manage schedules, subcontractors, and cost performance
Preferred Experience
Industrial piping scope including underground piping, tie-ins, supports, valves, and coordination of testing/turnover
Mechanical/civil coordination (sitework + mechanical installs working together)
Heavy civil/sitework experience: excavation, grading, drainage, utilities, and structural earthwork
Experience supporting construction in active operating facilities
Familiarity with environmental controls, dewatering, and erosion control
Qualifications
8+ years of construction project management experience
PMP (Preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency with project reporting, documentation, and job cost tracking tools
Ability to work on-site and support field operations
