Fully remote applicants will be considered as well. The Developer will be responsible for building websites for our clients using open source content management systems, primarily WordPress and Drupal. We are looking for a candidate with strong PHP skills who is proficient in customizing, theming, and implementing Drupal and WordPress installations small and large, and preferably is also comfortable working with JavaScript frameworks when needed.What you"ll doWrite clean and well-documented codeDevelop responsive, standards-compliant websites for our clientsWork with PHP, Drupal, Wordpress, and other open-source platforms, as well as JavaScript frameworksCollaborate with the rest of the tech team to create, optimize, and uphold good development processesWork closely with other departments to ensure that technical implementations align with overall project objectivesEvaluate designs, wireframes and other deliverables for development feasibility and collaborate with designers as neededContribute to cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent display in major supported browsers on Mac, PC, iOS and AndroidFix bugs and issues on existing sitesStay on top of current and upcoming technical trendsQualificationsExpert HTML, Sass/CSS, and Javascript skills with full understanding of web standards and responsive design techniquesProficient in PHP, including object-oriented PHP, with more than three years experience Understanding of jQuery and other JavaScript librariesExperienced with version control (Git preferred)Working knowledge of Drupal or WordPress theme developmentExperience with MySQL or other open-source database applicationsExperience with basic system administration in a distributed LAMP environmentFamiliarity with other programming languages and content management systemsFamiliarity with web service technologies such as REST and JSON (i.e. open graph, twitter, and other third party APIs)Experience configuring and theming Shopify sitesExperience working with large databases and user systemsBasic understanding of SEO and accessibility best practicesActive participation in the open source communityAbility to estimate time and level of effort for development tasksExcellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environmentInitiative to solve problems on your ownAbility to handle multiple projects and prioritize accordinglyWorking At AgitalWe believe that great work is only possible with great people.
