Tax Director - State & Local Tax (SALT)

CI Search Group has partnered with a large, high-growth organization on a Tax Director opportunity focused on State & Local Tax and corporate tax provision oversight within a complex, multi-state environment.This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to partner closely with leadership while helping drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalable tax operations in a rapidly expanding organization.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee state and local income/franchise tax compliance processes across multiple jurisdictionsManage and review ASC 740/state income tax provision calculations and related tax accounting mattersOversee external advisors and co-sourcing relationships to ensure timely and accurate filingsSupport state tax planning initiatives, nexus analysis, apportionment, and tax research projectsAssist with audits, notices, and various state and local tax controversiesPartner cross-functionally with accounting, legal, treasury, and operational leadership teamsDrive tax process improvements and automation initiatives utilizing tools such as Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, OneSource, and other tax technologiesSupport tax implications related to acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic initiativesMentor and develop members of the tax team while helping build scalable processes within the departmentQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax; Master’s degree preferredCPA required10+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting and/or corporate tax environmentsStrong background in State & Local Tax (SALT), including multi-state income/franchise tax complianceExperience with ASC 740 / income tax provision processes requiredExperience working within complex multi-entity or high-growth organizationsStrong analytical, technical, and organizational skillsAbility to operate independently within a fully remote work environmentExperience with OneSource, Alteryx, Tableau, Corptax, or related tax technologies is highly preferredAdditional Highlights:Fully remote role with minimal travel requirementsStrong work-life balance and flexibilityExcellent benefits and matching 401(k)High-growth organization with continued expansion plansOpportunity to make a meaningful impact within a visible tax leadership role
