Hemodialysis Registered Nurse In CenterWe're looking for a Hemodialysis RN to deliver safe, high-quality chronic dialysis care under the direction of the Unit Medical Director, in compliance with facility, state, and federal standards.What You'll DoPatient CareInitiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments; assess patients pre- and post-treatmentPerform access care and dialyze isolation patients using proper precautionsAdminister and document medications per physician orders and within RN scope of practiceRecognize and report dialysis and non-dialysis-related problems promptlyObtain blood samples and initiate/discontinue blood transfusions per policyDevelop and update individualized nursing care plansProvide patient and family education as opportunities ariseMaintain a safe environment using proper body mechanics, universal precautions, and infection controlOperations & EquipmentOperate, sanitize, and maintain dialysis and water treatment equipment per policyAssist with supply ordering, inventory management, and unit organizationReport equipment malfunctions and supply issues promptlyTeam & AdministrationCommunicate effectively with physicians, coordinators, patients, and familiesAssist in orienting and training new staffParticipate in staff meetings, in-services, and CQI projectsSupport scheduling and adequate unit coverage as neededRequirementsActive RN license per state requirementsKnowledge of ESRD and hemodialysis proceduresCommitment to ongoing clinical education and professional developmentMachines / EquipmentRN will be responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all hemodialysis and related ancillary and emergency equipment utilized in the facility such as: reuse equipment, water treatment equipment, computer, hemodialysis machines, sphygmomanometer, conductivity meter, glucometers, scale, electronic thermometers, centrifuge, EKG machine, IV infusion pump, code cart, suction machine, oxygen administration equipment, and personal protective equipment.Minimum QualificationsGraduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors in nursing or health related field preferred.Approximately one year nursing experience.Current appropriate state licensure.Hemodialysis experience desirable.ICU/CCU experience preferred.Successful completion of training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis.Valid driver's license and insurance, when indicated/applicable for business travel by automobile.Computer knowledge desirable.Successful completion of current CPR Healthcare Recognition according to the American Heart Association.Possesses reliable transportation.
