Senior Software Engineer - Austin (Hybrid 2-3 days)My client is a pre-seed AI security company looking to govern what authenticated identities are doing and how they are behaving in production. Whilst many businesses in this space have traditionally focused on authentication (who gets access to the system and when) my client looks at what is happening once access has been granted and the keys handed over.Are systems acting reliably and as expected?Are agents acting within their intended boundaries?Are non-human identities, automated pipelines, and AI-driven workflows doing what they're supposed to — or has something silently gone wrong?Having seen a real niche for this, the two business founders, both big names within the Cloud and Securities industries have secured some strong early funding and are now building out a founding engineering team.This is a backend-heavy and greenfield position, where you'd have a real opportunity to own the core infrastructure area of the platform.An ideal candidate would already be someone who has built backend systems that other systems depend on and not just applications that serve users. Think event pipelines, control plane services, or ingestion infrastructure where reliability and correctness actually matter downstream. They'll have lived through the pain of operating something in production, not just shipping it.Within the role, you can expect to:Design and maintain event ingestion pipelines across cloud, CI/CD, and agent environmentsOwn production deployment, IaC, and observability instrumentationIntegrate with external platforms — cloud providers, CI/CD tooling, AI-agent runtimesBuild and own the backend services and APIsThey'd need you to come with 4+ years of experience within the following areas:Strong AWS skills - ECS/Fargate, RDSInfrastructure - Terraform/CloudFormationEngineering experience - Python / GoExperience with debugging / reliability - OpenTelemetry etcBenefits - the company have a strong benefits package -Equity optionsMonthly Health/Wellness budgetsTravel BudgetsFor more information, apply or reach out.
