Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description We are seeking a Full Time Fire Alarm Technician/Installer to join our team! You will perform maintenance, repairs, installations, programming, and inspections of fire systems. We offer hands-on learning and actively train/develop our teams to learn innovative skills and techniques. Occasional travel is required but most work is in Southeast Michigan area.Responsibilities:Install, repair, program, and perform scheduled routine preventive maintenance inspections of fire systemsEnsure work is completed in accordance with relevant fire and electrical codesComplete electronic work orders/paperwork via mobile deviceMeet deadlines and finish work timely with a high level of craftmanship/precisionExperience:2 - 3 years in the fire alarm/security alarm industry is preferred but experience in low voltage construction, data cabling, and general construction work a plusNICET Certification - preferred but not requiredState of Michigan Licensing - preferred but not requiredCity of Detroit Licensing - preferred but not requiredWilling to train a team player that is detail-oriented, self-starting, organized, and can follow instructionsSkills:Electrical/Electronic skillsUnderstanding of technical documents, drawings/floor plans, installation instructions, BOM, and electrical/fire codesOrganizational skills to manage time, materials, vehicle, and schedule timeline of projectsComputer Skills - Microsoft Office, e-mail, and general computer useMeet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: Standing for extended periods of time, lifting boxes over 30 lbs., climbing ladders, crouching in small spacesWork on ariel lifts at heights exceeding 20' from the finished floor may be requiredRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent (Required for State of Michigan licensing)Valid driver's license with good record is required - no DUIs or DWIsNo felony criminal historyMust have own hand toolsSafety boots/Hard sole/steel toe as requiredMust have dependable transportation until if/when assigned a company vehicleBenefits:MedicalDental401K with 3% matchPaid Federal HolidaysAccrued vacation PTO monthlyUniforms providedPay:Based on experience and licensingDIEM if travel is required Company DescriptionDetroit Fire Company was founded in 2016 as a locally owned service provider for fire alarms.
