CAD/Design Drafter III

The CAD/Design Drafter III is responsible for developing conceptual designs, reviewing drawings, and supporting the engineering team. This role involves designing project-specific components for manufacturing, facilitating internal workflows, and collaborating with Project Management and Engineering teams-both in person and remotely-to develop design concepts and engineering documentation. Responsibilities may vary based on department needs.Key Responsibilities:Research and review project requirements and design information to ensure completeness and feasibilityAssist in preparing standard engineering documents and calculations using Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor, and iLogicCoordinate with Project Managers and Engineers to define project requirements, functions, and timelinesDetermine appropriate methods for creating drawings using customized, standard, or existing CAD templatesAnalyze drawings and design data to support project planning and executionComplete and revise drawings in accordance with scope of work and quality standardsReview drawings from other drafters to ensure consistency with project scope and drafting standardsSupport project managers in preparing scopes of work and project estimatesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent experience(8+ years of mechanical engineering field experience may substitute for a degree)Proficiency with Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor, and iLogicPreferred Qualifications:Experience with sheet metal and piping designAdditional Requirements:CAD skills assessment requiredWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Primarily sedentary work, involving extended periods of sitting and computer useRequires attention to detail, visual focus, and coordination for high-accuracy tasksMay involve occasional physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting (up to 10 lbs), and repetitive motionsWork is typically performed in a comfortable office environmentMust meet attendance expectations
