We value and celebrate the team's efforts to move our company forward through incremental advances and breakthrough achievements.Summary: A Final Shipper verifies quantity, content and “ship to” information of merchandise submitted for shipment, prepares it for shipping and ensures that it is shipped in accordance with company manufacturing and shipping procedures and safety policies.RequirementsEssential Functions:Generate Quality Control certificates, box labels and tags as required by print or procedure.Perform final work order check and weld tags to discs as appropriatePack all individual disc or holder items per procedure to ensure safe shipment to the customerVerify that all items of a sales order are presentComplete packing listRe-pack order into master crate or carton, building wooden crates as neededDetermine carrier / method of shipment per shop order and arrange for shipment accordinglyGenerate “ship to” address markingProvide any customer specified exterior carton marking, dimension and weightsPerform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business needQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or GEDExperience: 1-3 months work experience in a shipping or production environment. Previous experience in a production position at CDC is preferred.Technical / Function SpecificBasic math and reading skillsComputer skills sufficient to work with carrier websites and generate labelsAbility to use tools required by the position, including but not limited to, spot welder, riveter, grinders, sanders, power saws, nail gun, tape gun, heat sealer, stapler and forkliftBehavioralWillingness and ability to follow all manufacturing and shipping procedures and company policiesAttention to detailConcern for quality, accuracy and safetyAbility to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlinesPositive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, supervisors, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors when called uponPhysical RequirementsMotor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machineryAbility to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is requiredAbility to independently lift up to 50 pounds as needed and lift up to 100 pounds with the aid of hoists and other equipmentAbility to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoesBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, FSA and 401K with Match eligible day one.
