Software Engineering Tools Developer

ResponsibilitiesGeneral Dynamics Land Systems is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Engineering Tools Developer. This position will be responsible for the development, integration, and administration of engineering life-cycle tools, which shall include, but not be limited to:Configuration and Workflow ManagementRequirements ManagementDesign ModelingCoding & unit testSystem TestingInventory ManagementApplicants MustBe able to multi-task on simultaneous development projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and committed scope.Have exceptional customer service and communication skills; be helpful and calm under pressure.Have a proactive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the toolset is continuously evolving.Technical QualificationsProficiency in PHP for server-side scripting and application development.Experience with Perl, Python, or Ruby for scripting and automation tasks.Strong knowledge of MySQL and database design/principles and standards for optimization.Expertise in HTML for front-end development and creating web page structures.Experience with Jira for tracking and managing project tasks and issues.Familiarity with Git Tools for version control and collaborative coding.Ability to create and maintain documentation using Confluence/SharePoint/Etc.Strong understanding of object-oriented computing principles and their application in software design and developmentBe well-versed in the configuration, administration, and upkeep of Atlassian products including, but not limited to, JIRA, Bitbucket, SourceTree, Confluence, and BambooPreferred QualificationsExperience with additional programming languages or frameworks.Familiarity with additional CI/CD or configuration management tools.Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).Experience with cloud services, deployment tools, DevOps tools (e.g., Chef, Ansible)Experience with scripting in Jira using ScriptRunner, Groovy, or PowerScripts a plusHave in-depth knowledge of, and experience with, networking and/or systems technologiesThis position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).INTRODUCTIONGeneral Dynamics is a global Fortune 100 company, proudly serving the aerospace and defense industry for over 70 years.
