(Remote Part-Time) Instructor - Medical Billing and Coding

POSITION OVERVIEW:ProTrain is currently recruiting for an experienced Live Online instructor with experience teaching Medical Billing & Coding.Candidates must have experience teaching in a classroom or/and in a synchronous environment, as well as have a minimum of 3 years in Medical Billing & Coding.This is a part time; contracted teaching position to begin immediately. Future classes will be available to the right candidate.Course Day/Time: Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7PM - 10PM ETWHAT YOU WILL DO:Live Online instructorDescribe the role of the Certified Medical Billing SpecialistDescribe the origin of medical languageAnalyze the component parts of a medical termList and define basic prefixes, suffixes, and combining formsUse basic prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms to build medical termsExplain common rules for proper medical term formation, pronunciation, and spellingAssess the responsibilities assigned to insurance billing and coding specialists and electronic claims processorsDescribe the health care delivery systemExplain the responsibilities of the billing and coding specialist to protect patient rights under HIPAADemonstrate a basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of body systems and related medical terminology in order to properly process clean claimsUtilize the ICD‐10-CM manual, including V codes, E codes, and the Neoplasm and Hypertension tablesDemonstrate a basic understanding of the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCSUtilize the CPT manual and the various guidelinesDemonstrate diagnostic and procedural codingDescribe basic guidelines for submitting insurance claimsExplain the difference between clean, pending, rejected, incomplete, and invalid claimsIdentify solutions for denied and rejected paper and electronic claimsIdentify when a paper claim can and cannot be usedExplain the relationship of transactions and security with electronic dataCommunicate (verbally and non‐verbally) effectively and appropriately in the workplaceREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 3-5 years teaching experienceTeaching certification preferredMinimum 3 years in related field of studyBilling and Coding CertificationMust adhere to weekly class scheduleWHAT WE OFFER:Competitive SalaryFlexible, Part-time hoursFaculty DevelopmentWHY PROTRAIN?Founded in 2004, ProTrain offers quality classroom and online training.
