Sr. Repair TechnicianThe Sr. Repair Technician performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.Position Responsibilities:Primary responsibility is to repair Small Unmanned Arial System products in our SUAS manufacturing facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions using our work order systemAssembly and Disassembly of various Line Replaceable Units (LRU)Mechanical assembly of subassemblies using hand and/or power toolsFinal assembly of ground control equipment and air vehiclesTesting and troubleshooting of subassemblies and final assembliesSoldering is one of the duties performed in this roleWorks with other Repair Technicians and Engineering to correct and improve upon any documents related to the assembly process at the required high quality standardWorking with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs and validate released assembly/fabrication documentationResponsible for ensuring that work order protocols are followed and that work order paperwork is completed as the work is performedMay also train other technicians to build a product or follow an established assembly processMay conduct in-process quality checks to ensure that items built are to established high quality standardsConsistently works on assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issuesOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):High School diploma or GED equivalentMinimum of 6+ years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment in either electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceExperienced in working on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Ground Control Stations (GCSs)Experienced with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools is requiredExperienced interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formDemonstrated familiarity with Safety and ESD practicesMust have basic computer operation skillsOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies:Vocational training in Electronics and/or Solder Certification is desiredSoldering experiences of all types according to IPC standards in connection with the above described duties (Desired)Demonstrates competency in analyzing and solving problems.Versed in Lean Manufacturing methodologies is preferredActs independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignmentsAs a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques while completing tasks in creative and effective waysWork effectively with engineering on new product development efforts where documentation and assembly instructions are not yet finalizedMust have good oral and written communication skills and effectively communicate with employees in the CompanyAble to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of dutiesDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectivesTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work productsIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the companyFocuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interestsPhysical Demands:Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (Constant)Regularly required to sit and stand for long periodsRegularly lift and/or move up between 2 and 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsFrequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balanceOccasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hearSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus (Frequent)Clearance Level: No ClearanceThe salary range for this role is: $24 - $34AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. xevrcycBenefits: AV offers an excellent benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401K with company matching, a 9/80 work schedule and a paid holiday shutdown.
