Tax Preparer/Bookkeeper

We’re looking for an organized and driven Tax Preparer and bookkeeper to join our team. We are a small energetic firm that places high value on client and internal relationships. This position will work closely with our owner and staff members and report directly to the owner. This position has a variety of responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Create and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients, including attending networking meetings and events as required. 2. Present a professional demeanor in all interactions with clients and potential clients. 3. Maintain client files to ensure accurate and timely completion of returns and tasks. 4. Some general administrative duties including filing and assisting with phones. 5. Perform full-service bookkeeping for clients including categorizing transactions and reconciling bank and credit card accounts. Send monthly reports to all clients upon completion of books. 6. Maintain general ledgers including making necessary journal entries. 7. Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting. 8. Assist with preparation of quarter and year end documents including estimated taxes. 9. Analyze complex financial reports and records. 10. Prepare simple and complex corporate, personal, and trust tax returns. Competencies 1. Attention to detail. 2. Excellent planning and organizational skills. 3. Ability to communicate effectively both internally and with clients. 6. Strong written and oral interpersonal and communication skills. 7. A minimum of 2 years related experience in an accounting or administrative field. 8. High level of skill with MS Office. 9. Experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online a must. 10. Experience with Drake tax software and CCH Axcess Tax Software a plus, but not a necessity. Work remotely: · No Schedule · Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm. Additional overtime during tax seasons (January – April; September – October) may be required.
