Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. This school year-long contract runs from August 4, 2026, to May 26, 2027, with potential for additional planning days and future contract renewal. The role is based in a lower-functioning, self-contained functional curriculum classroom, where you will work collaboratively with two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician to provide dedicated support to students.Desired Qualifications:Active Special Education GaPSC certification with SPED content endorsement (up to 8th grade)Adapted Curriculum Endorsement required (district may consider candidates with pending credentials)Experience in functional curriculum, self-contained, or similar special education settings preferredAbility to foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environmentStrong communication and teamwork skillsCore Responsibilities:Deliver adaptive and functional curriculum to high school students in a self-contained classroomCollaborate with paraprofessionals and behavioral support staff to provide individualized student careDevelop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with team members and familiesMaintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholdersParticipate in ongoing professional development and departmental planning activitiesThe school offers a welcoming and professional environment, supportive colleagues, and valuable experience for those dedicated to special education.
