Residential AutoCAD Drafter
Company Overview
Citrus Hills Construction is seeking an experienced Residential AutoCAD Drafter to support our residential construction projects from concept through permitting and construction. This role is responsible for producing accurate, code-compliant construction drawings that align with project specifications, Florida Building Code requirements, and company standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in residential construction drafting, a deep understanding of Florida Building Codes, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, engineers, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed residential construction drawings using AutoCAD, including:
Floor plans
Elevations
Building sections
Roof framing plans
Foundation and structural coordination drawings
Modify and update drawings based on design changes, field conditions, and jurisdictional comments.
Ensure all plans comply with Florida Building Code, local amendments, and permitting requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, estimators, engineers, and designers to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Assist with permit submittals and respond to plan review comments as needed.
Maintain organized drawing files and adhere to Citrus Hills Construction drafting standards.
Review plans for consistency, clarity, and completeness prior to issue.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of residential construction drafting experience
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (residential-focused)
Working knowledge of Florida Building Code (FBC) and local jurisdiction requirements
Experience drafting for single-family homes and residential construction details
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with builders or residential construction firms
Familiarity with Florida permitting processes
Knowledge of residential structural systems (wood framing, foundations, roof systems)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
