Project Engineer - Preconstruction

About the Position Support the Preconstruction department with tasks associated with project pursuits. Key Responsibilities Include: Live the company values: Demonstrate competence to safety and build projects of high quality. Honesty and integrity to build trustworthy relationships. Work hard and do everything in your ability to support your team. Create effective partnerships with clients, employees, and construction partners. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. Support Estimators and Lead Estimators with subcontractor outreach for specific projects. Support Estimators and Lead Estimators with quantified takeoffs from project documents. Perform site surveys and investigations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field is preferred. Progressive construction estimating and/or field experience is desired. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; A focus on team work – continually listen, collaborate and communicate among colleagues, clients and partners; Professionalism with the ability, demeanor and character to develop honest and trusted relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals and clients; Ability to work well with team members from various departments and offices; and the following Poettker Construction competencies: Safety First, Quality Work, Honesty and Integrity, Trustworthy Relationships, Family Oriented, Effective Partnerships, and Fiscal Responsibility. Compensation Range: $68,000 - $80,000 At Poettker Construction, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
