Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer (SQL) – Project Lead to support mission-critical public health initiatives, including data migration, ETL development, data warehousing, reporting, and Electronic Disease Surveillance System (EDSS) modernization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, ETL processes, and healthcare/public health data integration.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with MS SQL Server (2016+)3+ years of experience with T-SQL, including Stored Procedures, Advanced Queries, and Query Optimization 3+ years of experience developing ETL/Data Pipeline solutions 3+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Relational Databases 3+ years of experience with Report Development 3+ years of experience working with XML1+ year of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)1+ year of experience with HL7 v2.x (2.3.1–2.5.1) ORU Messages 1+ year of experience with HIPAA, PHI, PII, CDC security standards, or similar healthcare data compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience handling large datasets (1TB+)Requirements gathering and technical documentation
- Public Health or Disease Surveillance SystemsSAS development/migration
- Power BI reportingLOINC/SNOMEDR & RStudioFASTQ files and demultiplexing
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases, stored procedures, and ETL processes.
Develop and maintain SSIS packages and data pipelines.
Build reports and dashboards using SQL and Power BI.Support data migration, validation, testing, and deployment.
Work with XML, HL7, CSV, and healthcare data integrations.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production database processes.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Mentor team members and promote database development best practices.
