Controller

OverviewThis critical position is responsible for partnering with the Chief Financial Officer andDirector of FP&A to focus on achieving and optimizing the organization’s annual/multi-yearplans, growth and profitability. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financialoperations of the enterprise, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting, and ensuringcompliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Operational areas of focusinclude: accounting operations, internal financial report creation, guidance, audit support,and team/staff development.Primary Duties & Responsibilities Acts as a key member of the Finance Department’s senior management team, alsoincluding the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Responsible for developing and managing the tools and processes supporting theorganization’s accounting operations and internal reporting requirements with anemphasis on timely, accurate and repeatable results. Ownership for daily and ongoing enterprise accounting, including, but not limited tomonthly, quarterly and year-end financial close. Management of compliance and internal controls - ensures alignment with relevantaccounting standards/regulations and implements and manages internal controls tosafeguard company assets. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Hires, trains and mentors Accounting team members, including Accounts Payableand Receivable. Delegates work, as appropriate, to Accounting Departmentmembers. Evaluates employee performance and provides developmentopportunities for team members. Operates as a an enterprise financial risk consultant. Engages as a business liaison for audit requirements.Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation skills, as wellas the ability to influence others and resolve problems in a positive manner. Strong business acumen with in-depth working knowledge of all facets of theconstruction industry and/or Ohio Valley Electrical Services (preferred). Must be able to work successfully in a team environment and provide mentoring toless experienced individuals in the department, and work well with all levels ofmanagement and staff within the organization. Executive presence and ability to interact with senior division leadership andcorporate executives. Strong management capabilities with experience in managing people with trackrecord of growing strong teams. Must operate with a sense of urgency. Accurate with keen attention to detail.Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Active CPA status a plus. 7+ years of progressive accounting management experience, construction industrypreferred.
