This position offers a unique, hands on opportunity to gain experience across multiple township departments while contributing to meaningful community initiatives.This position will play an active role in daily operations, special projects, and community engagement efforts. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in local government, public administration, communications, or event planning.This position is expected to work up to 40 hours per week from May through August (able to work around university schedule).Examples of DutiesSupport the planning, coordination, and execution of township events and programsCollaborate with various township departments on projects and initiatives to gain a broad understanding of municipal operationsAssist the Community Engagement team by helping cover events, programs, and outreach effortsConduct outreach to local businesses, organizations, and residents to gather feedback and build community relationshipsAssist with creating flyers, graphics, and other outreach materialsOther duties as assigned.Typical QualificationsCurrently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program in public administration, communications, political science, event planning, marketing, or a related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interact professionally with residents, staff, and community partnersBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with social media platformsAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for eventsValid driver's license and reliable transportationSupplemental InformationPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
