Responsibilities include general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, asset tracking, compliance support, and preparation of monthly financial statements. The role partners closely with the Controller and provides backup support across payroll, accounts payable, and cash management functions. This role directly reports to the Controller.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger, Month Close & Financial ReportingPreparing and posting journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and correctionsSupporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPreparing schedules and support for financial statementsReviewing general ledger accounts for accuracy, completeness, and reasonablenessAssisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and documentation required by auditors and external agenciesReporting sales use and excise taxBanking, Cash & ReconciliationsPerforming monthly bank reconciliations. Reconciling credit card activity and employee reimbursementsSupporting EFT documentation and cash-related controlsAsset Management, Leases & AppraisalsMaintaining fixed asset schedules, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposalsTracking leased assets and rent paymentsMaintaining asset documentation for auditInternal Controls, Separation of Duties & Accounting ComplianceAssisting with the development, documentation, and maintenance of internal accounting controlsSupporting proper segregation of duties across accounting processes, including payroll, cash disbursements, reconciliations, and journal entry preparationPerforming assigned control activities and reviews in accordance with established policiesParticipating in internal control testing, audit preparation, and follow-up on identified control gaps or improvement opportunitiesCollaborating with the Controller to recommend process improvements that strengthen controls, accuracy, and complianceTeam Collaboration & Workload SupportServing as a backup for payroll processing, vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and reconciliations as needed Supporting peer workload during peak periods, deadlines, or staff absencesProviding cross coverage for accounting functions, including payroll and accounts payableCommunicating workload constraints, risks, or timing issues to the ControllerParticipating in process improvementsAssisting with special projects as requestedWhat We're Looking ForA proactive and organized accounting professional who brings a strong understanding of accounting principles, communicates clearly and collaboratively, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering accurate, high-quality work.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 5 years of advanced accounting experienceAdvanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite Experience with ERP software, Deltek Vantagepoint preferredAccuracy and strong attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalismStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical teamsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary: $75,000 – $105,000 annually, depending on experience Professional development and career growth opportunities Coaching and Mentorship programsPerformance bonuses for qualified employees Generous vacation and sick leave programs (increases with tenure)Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) with company match and profit sharing Education ReimbursementPaid HolidaysHealth club subsidyA collaborative, team-centered work environment Employee ownership opportunities after qualified years of serviceThe application window will be open through August 5, 2026.
