Recreation Leader

**Job Summary:**Gateway Special Recreation Association is looking for a part-time Recreation Leader to join their team. The Recreation Leader will assist in organizing special events, after school programs, child development, and fitness programs for individuals with disabilities.**Responsibilities:**- Provide direct service and support to children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.- Report to the Program Coordinator for each recreation program.- Work weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as weekend days and evenings.- Engage participants in various activities to enhance leisure and social skills.- Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for program participants.- Uphold the mission and values of the Association.**Qualifications Required:**- Prefer 2-5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in a recreation, community agency, school, or employment setting.- Must be at least 17 years old.- High School Diploma/GED preferred.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.- Valid Illinois driver's license (for staff 21 years of age and over).- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Clear CHIRP and CANTS background checks.- Ability to lift and transfer individuals up to 75 lbs.- Positive and upbeat personality.**Schedule:** Part-time position with work on evenings and weekends.**Wage:** $15.00 per hour.To apply for this position, text "RecLead" to 630-884-5797.
