Tester
Job DescriptionSupport the validation of Interface PCBA boards for Automated Manufacturing tester systems that will be deployed across the world for production of Tesla's vehicle, cell, and energy products. As a member of our Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) team, you will ensure that the products we develop meet our world-class expectations and contribute to the success of the overall project.Key Responsibilities:· Validate IPCBA's from supplier by going through bench testing and step by step from all the LV circuits to the HV circuits.· Use debugging tools available to troubleshoot any issues we find and fix them as we progress through the validation of the PCBA.· Document all different steps and debugging experiences to ensure the knowledge can be easily transferred across the teams.· Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to understand component or soldering related failures on the board and document the solutionRequirements:· Operating test instrumentation to verify performance and diagnose issues, including one or a combination of the following: oscilloscopes, multimeters, DMM, or power supplies.· Working in test automation or data analysis using one or a combination of Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C, or C++.· Utilizing Linux, Shell or Bash, to develop and maintain automated test scripts and support tools for test execution, data processing, and system validation.· Reading and interpreting CAD models, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, or wiring diagrams for testing or troubleshooting· Conducting mechanical, thermal, or electrical testing at the component, subsystem, or system level, analyzing test results, and preparing engineering reports or validation summaries.· Developing and executing test plans, validation methods, and test procedures, applying Design of Experiments (DOE) or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)· Using communication interfaces for testing and debugging, including one or a combination of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, or UART, to enable automated logging, control, and test execution.· Exposure to high-voltage and/or low-voltage electrical systems in a test/validation environment.· Applying digital and/or electrical circuit fundamentals during test setup, debug, or validation.· Perform precision soldering and rework of surface-mount (SMD) components on PCBs for test setup, repair, and validation activities.
