SO Financial Analyst

Job SummaryReporting directly to a Financial Manager, responsible for assisting in the administration of the Sheriff’s Office (SO) and County Jail financial services in a manner consistent with the SO and county’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations, and to ensure the safeguard of its assets.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMEDAssists with accounts payable when Financial Clerk is unavailableReviews and develops, or suggests modification(s) to existing, fiscal and administrative goals, policies, procedures, and systems to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the financial and analytical services of the SO, including management of contracts for SO and CorrectionsParticipates in analyzing the economic and financial feasibility of proposed projects, including the preparation of technical, administrative, and cost/benefit analysis reports and presentations Assists with the purchasing activities of the SO, including the preparation and distribution of requests for proposals for services and materialsSupports the annual SO budget process by assistance with budget development, implementation, and preparation Attends all meetings and trainings, as requiredPerforms special duties as assignedORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPSReports directly to – Financial ManagerDirect Reports – NoPHYSICAL DEMANDSPosition involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carryingENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSWork is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environmentIRREGULAR HOURSWork outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be requiredMay be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergencyThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
