ITBM Developer Lead

ITBM Developer LeadRemote within Texas (Austin local preferred, if local must work onsite 2 days/wk)6-8 months contract with possibility to extensionWork involves planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring BI solutions and supporting TxDOT ITD process for ITBM application that tracks financials and performance metrics for service providers. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May direct the work of others. The essential duties for this contract include:Translate business needs to technical specificationsDesign, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy)Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)Conduct unit testing and troubleshootingEvaluate and improve existing BI systems, collaborate with teams to integrate systemsDevelop and execute database queries and conduct analysesCreate visualizations and reports for requested projectsDevelop and update technical documentationReview, confirm understanding of Service Provider contracted requirements (e.g., financial exhibits, SLA exhibits)Support definition of financial Billing Triggers (source data, algorithms), and SLA Triggers (source data, algorithms)Support documentation for source systems (e.g., ITSM, project management) definition of source system data requirementsReview, confirm understanding of target system processing logic (e.g., services, rates, calculations)Perform development and configuration of target system including data input processing, calculation and charge/SLA processing, report configuration, invoice reconciliation processingPerform peer code reviewsPerform development and configuration of reportsSupport development of test plans and create test plan data (unit, system, UAT, performance)Execute test plans (unit, system, UAT, performance) and resolve defectsSupport development of Operational Readiness planSupport activities to ensure the system is operationally ready for go-liveRequired Skills:Years - Skills/Experience9 - Experience with Information Technology projects5 - Experience designing and deploying BI solutions using Power BI and Tableau; experience with data warehousing projects, data preparation, and data gateways5 - Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, as well as execute efficient deep analysis5 - Experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS5 - Experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects5 - Experience using JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and other JavaScript libraries5 - Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights5 - Experience developing and organizing IT Application departments according to the mission and goals of the organization3 - Experience with software and/or asset management, include reporting of compliance metrics8 - Possess strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including executive staff.
