Diesel Technician/Mechanic
We are looking for a skilled GSE Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various devices and tools and follow all safety precautions.
Performs maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.
Executes complex maintenance assignments involving but not limited to automotive, electrical, systems and other related trade skill sets.
Trains, mentors and guides Jr. GSE Mechanics.
May have input on the hiring and promotion of others in the mechanic employee group.
Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures
Utilizes a computer to perform a variety of communications, training and administrative processes.
Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
Basic Requirements
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Minimum 2 years experience as heavy, medium, or light duty mechanic.
Ability to read and understand basic electrical/hydraulic schematics.
Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade.
Depending on the location, may be required to travel.
Skills
Proven experience as Mechanic
Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components
Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers)
Ability to follow established procedures and practices
Read instructions, blueprints, etc.
A solid commitment to all health and safety guidelines
Excellent communication skills
A problem-solving ability
Incredible physical strength and stamina
A high school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a definite plus.
Valid certification (e.g., ASE) is preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
