Required Skills: Valid ASCP certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) is mandatory; no substitutions accepted. Proficiency with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and relevant laboratory instrumentation. Strong attention to detail in specimen labeling and collection. Ability to exercise independent judgment in organizing, scheduling, and planning work. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work efficiently under stress and extended periods. Flexibility to adapt to emergency situations, including working additional hours or shifts as needed. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with postmortem examinations or surgical specimen dissection. Previous exposure to laboratory workflows within healthcare settings. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures. Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related discipline. Prior experience in a histology or pathology laboratory environment is desirable but not mandatory. Other Requirements: This position is based in Pittsfield, MA, and applicants must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
