Job Description Welder / Fabricator – 1st Shift (Temp-to-Hire)Pay: Starting at $25.00+ per hour, depending on experienceSchedule: Full-time, 1st Shift (6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) 45 hours a week is consistantOvertime: As needed, typically 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays (7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) About the Opportunity:Our client, a well-established custom metal fabrication company, is seeking experienced Welder/Fabricators to join their first-shift team. This is a hands-on position that involves taking projects from blueprints to finished product. It's ideal for welders who enjoy variety, problem-solving, and craftsmanship — not repetitive production work.This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering long-term stability and strong earning potential. Once hired on directly, employees transition to a piece-rate pay system, where the majority of fabricators average between $25–$35+ per hour. Responsibilities:Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to fabricate railings, frames, stairs, gates, and other custom metal components.Cut, punch, and drill materials to specifications.Perform MIG welding on steel materials such as tube, angle, and channel (16-gauge up to 1⁄2" thick).TIG welding experience with brass, aluminum, or stainless steel is a strong plus.Grind and finish materials to meet high-quality appearance standards.Use accurate measurements, perform math conversions, and read a tape measure to 1/16".Lift materials up to 50 lbs regularly.Maintain a consistent record of attendance and punctuality. Qualifications:Strong math and measurement skills (including fractions, decimals, and basic algebra).Ability to read blueprints and visualize 3D parts from 2D drawings.Previous experience in custom fabrication, setup welding, or metalworking preferred.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for insurability).Must pass a drug screen prior to employment.Reliable and willing to learn — candidates who show good work habits and attendance have strong potential for hire after 90 days.
