GENERAL SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Seasonal Park Maintenance Workers are responsible for tasks related to park maintenance and construction. Their duties include utilizing tools and equipment, operating and maintaining county vehicles and equipment, and performing other assignments as directed. 2. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ("?" indicates essential functions) Assist with mowing, cutting trees and brush, spraying, and other related park maintenance work.Cleaning and upkeep of restrooms, shelters, shops and grounds.Perform buildings and grounds maintenance.Operating and maintaining all equipment in a safe manner.Maintain and services vehicles and equipment based upon manufacturers' instructions.Keep maintenance logsFollows safety rulesDrives to and from work locations using a county pickup and pulling a trailer. 3. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None 4. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES): ("?" Indicates essential requirement of the position) A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record, required.The ability to unload and load a riding mower from a trailer and pull the trailer to the different parks around the county using a pickup truck.Ability to follow directions and learn quicklyAbility to work independently and accomplish objectives without close supervisionAbility to meet and work cordially and effectively with people under a variety of circumstancesAbility to operate and use power tools and equipment. 5. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: (These support the essential function of the position)Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsMust be able to record information on log sheetsMust have vision capable of seeing medium and long distances and good peripheral visionMay be required to sit, bend, stretch, reach, stoop, knell, climb ladders off and on of vehicles and equipment and move about for extended periods.Regularly travels to work sites and work outdoorsRegularly works in varying temperatures and other weather-related situationsMaybe be exposed to dust, grass, pollen, insects and herbicidesEmployees must wear protective clothing and gear, including ear plugs, boots, a hard hat, and safety goggles, when necessary. 6.
