Safety Manager - ESOP Firm, Nationwide Travel

Company OverviewP&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Since 1946, we've delivered fabrication and installation services with a commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and client-focused solutions.This role supports projects across the United States and requires a high level of travel based on business and project needs. Candidates may be based anywhere within the U.S.; however, the selected individual should be prepared for assignments at various project locations nationwide. Travel for this position may reach up to approximately 90%.Project assignments generally last 10 to 17 months, depending on project duration and operational requirements. While assigned to a project away from home, eligible employees are provided per diem to assist with temporary living and travel-related expenses. In addition to a competitive base salary, mobilization assistance may be provided, which can include mileage reimbursement or other approved travel support. Employees may also receive extended weekend rotations approximately once per month, allowing additional time for travel home.Depending on project requirements, eligible employees could be provided with either a company-issued vehicle and fuel card or a vehicle allowance to support travel needs.Position OverviewThe Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and promoting all aspects of project safety to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety plans. This role supports the development and implementation of safety programs, emergency protocols, incident investigations, reporting audits, and safety initiatives while providing leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship to project teams. The Safety Manager fosters a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, and achieving safe, high-quality project outcomes with zero recordable incidents or lost-time accidents.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and implementation of the Site-Specific Safety PlanEnsure site emergency protocols and medical services are established for the projectCoordinate procurement and distribution of required safety equipmentSupport project-specific safety campaigns, recognition programs, and initiativesParticipate in internal and external project kickoff meetingsEnsure all project activities are performed safely and in compliance with environmental standardsPrepare and submit weekly and monthly safety reportsLead reviews of incident and near-miss investigations to identify root causes and corrective actionsAnalyze site observations and audit results to identify safety trends and improvement opportunitiesManage and mentor staff in alignment with P&E safety standards and expectationsServe as the primary liaison to site management regarding safety technical guidance and compliance mattersFacilitate project team reviews of safety incidents and near misses to support continuous learningCompile final project safety metrics, including hours worked, incidents, and near misses, for closeout reportingCoordinate inventory and return of project safety equipmentProvide leadership with feedback and recommendations regarding overall project safety performanceEnsure compliance with all company processes, procedures, and policies; Promote and uphold the highest standards of safety performance and accountabilityFoster a positive safety culture through leadership, communication, and exampleSupport P&E's commitment to being a preferred partner by delivering safe, high-quality project outcomes that meet evolving customer needsDeliver projects with zero recordable incidents, lost-time accidents, or fatalitiesComplete required safety observations and reporting activitiesEnsure full compliance with P&E safety standards and site-specific safety plans;
