JOB DESCRIPTION Paraprofessional III- ESS TSWTITLE: Paraprofessional III- ESS Job Coach FTE: 0.875FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt HOURS PER DAY: 7WORK CALENDAR: 195 daysCOMPENSATION: Classified Non Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting at $18.70/hour)Each Job Coach will be assigned to two high schools and will split their workday between an early-start and late-start high school.These positions support students in completing job responsibilities on their respective campuses. Job Coaches will provide training, supervision, and encouragement as students work in various school-based placements such as: Bookstore, Maintenance, Cafeteria, Equipment Management and others as neededEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTo assist the teacher in providing the care, welfare, and safety of the students. Assist in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order that students may learn effectively.Train and monitor students in school-based job placementsProvide weekly progress updates to the TSW program supervisorDrive and supervise students during field trips and CBI eventsSupport the implementation of modifications per individual student plansAssists with learning activities within the general education and/or special education classroomMonitors classroom assignments given by the teacherMaintains confidential classroom student files and recordsAssists with the implementation of instruction modifications per the Individualized Education PlanCommunicates with teachers and parents regarding the students' needs and progressPrepares materials for classroom useMaintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issuesProvide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and communityPerform responsibilities in an ethical and professional mannerMaintain punctual and regular attendancePerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills And Abilities RequiredTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Education / Certificate Associate of Arts degree or paraprofessional certification required Must obtain and maintain CPR and first aid certification Must sign an AHCSS Provider Participation Agreement and obtain a provider number as required Must obtain activity bus certification (district provides training) Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance CardExperience Prior experience working with special needs children desired Must be 21 years of age or older upon hireCommunication Skills Must possess a positive attitude toward students, teachers, staff and parents/guardians Must possess the ability to take and follow directions Must be proficient in the use of the English language, both verbal and written Must possess a warmth and understanding for special needs studentsComputer SkillsMust possess basic computing and clerical skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
