The role is responsible for strengthening customer relationships by driving penetration (share of wallet) while proactively managing the risk of losing business. The role also works closely with Local Sales leaders and New Business Managers to unlock new opportunities and drive growth.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOwn the full relationship for the assigned customers, primarily contract, with the flexibility to support independent customersExecute penetration and retention strategies by identifying growth opportunities, managing customer attrition, and building long-term relationshipsPartner with supply chain and merchandising on inventory planning and route efficienciesWork closely with leader to balance time visiting customers and time spent working on their inventory to ensure they have the correct levels to meet their needsLeverage our online platform (Tandem, MOXe, SOUS, Sigma, etc.) to manage accounts, track performance, and prioritize actionsCommunicate with customers to apprise them of mutual performance, new products, programs and market trends both informally as needed and through periodic, formal business reviewsDrive your personal motor vehicle to conduct regular check-ins, site visits and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfactionOther duties as assigned by managerRELATIONSHIPSInternal: Major Account Manager, Region Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, New Business Manager, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact, Major Account coordinators.External: Customers, vendors, prospective customers.WORK ENVIRONMENTFrequently outside the office environment working in the field in variable weather and temperature conditions.Minimum QualificationsThree years of experience in sales and distributionExceptional customer service and interpersonal skillsCompetitive spirit and results driven mentalityAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service and accountabilityExperience using quantitative & qualitative research dataExcellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilitiesDemonstrated problem solving ability and negotiation skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbsOvernight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company eventsEDUCATIONHigh School diploma or equivalentLICENSESValid driver’s license required & motor vehicle record must be in good standingPreferred QualificationsFoodservice sales and distribution experienceRestaurant operations experienceBachelor's degreeThis role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
