Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Barista who is passionate about coffee as a craft. The ideal candidate understands the fundamentals of espresso, milk texturing, and pour-over brewing, and brings intention to every cup. This role involves both coffee preparation and friendly guest interaction in a casual service environment. We occasionally host evening events, and there are opportunities to take on a mixologist role if that’s something you enjoy.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Prepare espresso, pour-over, and batch coffee beverages to the highest quality standards
· Calibrate espresso grinders and maintain consistency throughout service
· Steam and texture milk for proper micro foam and drink structure
· Engage with guests warmly and professionally; create welcoming interactions
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee work area
· Restock supplies and assist with setup/breakdown of workspace each day
· Educate guests about beans, roasts, flavor profiles, and brewing styles when appropriate
· Follow food safety and sanitation best practices
Qualifications
· Prior barista experience required (specialty/third-generation coffee preferred)
· Comfortable dialing-in espresso and adjusting grind settings
· Strong understanding of brew ratios, extraction, and milk texturing
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a small-service setting
· Ability to lift 30 lbs. and work in outdoor environments
· Safe Food Handlers certificate preferred
