2nd Grade Elementary School Teacher

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 currently has an opening for a 2nd Grade Elementary School Teacher. The goals of this position include creating a flexible, grade-appropriate program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing effective rapport with students; motivating students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each student's ability; and establishing positive relationships with parents and other staff members.Duties And ResponsibilitiesImplement the course of study adopted by the Board of EducationInstruct students in basic subject matter as specified in state law and regulations, and stated in district regulations, expectations, procedures, and standards of performanceSelect or develop instructional materials for individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of individual studentsTranslate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best use the available time for instructionEstablish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroomEvaluate students' academic and emotional growth, keep and maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports as specified by the districtCommunicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progressIdentify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping solve health, attitude, and learning problemsMaintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activitiesParticipate in the evaluation process with the appropriate administrator to improve performance according to the district's evaluation planParticipate with the building principal in selecting appropriate texts, materials, and instructional aides, and maintain required inventory recordsAdminister group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program.Participate in curriculum development programsParticipate in faculty committees and student activitiesPerform essential job functions without a direct threat to the health and safety of othersReport to building administrators Skills And Experience RequiredValid Illinois Professional Educator LicenseElementary Education endorsementBachelor's Degree in EducationStudent teaching and/or experience in a K-5 classroom Physical/Mental RequirementsDemonstrate high levels of flexibility, interpersonal skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality and organizationPhysical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment or materialsHigh level of flexibility, articulation, concentration, and confidentiallyPlease Include: 3 Letters of Reference and/or Credential PacketTranscriptsResume
