Regulatory Case Rate ManagerA Transmission & Distribution Company with wide scale electrical utility infrastructure operations across Texas is seeking to grow its team with the addition of a Rates Manager. It is a core hire that will support electric service and wholesale transmission rate strategy. This role will work with Finance and Markets groups with interactions directly with the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies such as ERCOT and PUCT. The position comes with a solid compensation package that includes a competitive base salary, bi-annual bonus, health benefits, annual merit raises, and a double digit 401k match program.RESPONSIBILITIES:Leads the rate-making process by performing regular cost-of-service studiesPerforms quarterly retail sales forecast and revenue modeling of wholesale power and transmission costsEvaluates cost and revenue expectations of new ratesAdvocates for the approval of new rate programs to the Executive Team and Board of DirectorsStays abreast of Texas legislation, Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), and ERCOT activitiesAdvises senior management on recommendations for addressing changes to market rules or new opportunitiesDesigns rate offerings to attract and retain new and existing customersPerforms rate analysis to maintain market competitivenessQUALIFICATIONS:5-10+ years of experience related to design, implementation, and/or management of electric utility ratesMust have 3+ years of project coordination or leadership of rate change projectsCorporate leadership and stakeholder management experience dealing with regulatory bodies across the Southwest Region like ERCOT, Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), and TRE highly preferredMust have experience performing cost of service studies for electric transmission and distribution servicesMust have experience performing rate analysis, revenue modeling, and creating rate policyHave knowledge of wholesales power purchase design and/or PPAsAdvanced MS Excel experience - preferredDegree in Finance, Business, Regulatory Policy, Energy, or related fieldsCandidates have typically held the following titles: Regulatory Manager, Policy Manager, Case Rates Manager, Sr. Rates Analyst, Rate Policy Leader, Regulatory Tariffs Manager, Electrical Utility Pricing Manager...etc
