And it wouldn’t be Proper without a 5th floor pool deck offering small-batch tequilas and sunset views.Position OverviewThe Marketing Director is responsible for leading on-property marketing strategy, programming, and partnerships to drive awareness, guest engagement, and revenue across hotel, food & beverage, spa, wellness, and membership offerings.This role serves as the primary liaison between property operations and corporate marketing, translating on-the-ground activations into fully integrated, multi-channel campaigns across social, web, email, SMS, PR, and partnerships. The Marketing Director oversees the development of marketing initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with brand standards while maximizing commercial performance.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Business AlignmentDevelop and execute marketing strategies that support revenue growth across rooms, food & beverage, spa, wellness, and membership offeringsPartner with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Spa, Sales, and Membership teams to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and performance goalsIdentify opportunities to increase direct bookings, on-property spend, and guest engagementEvaluate marketing performance and adjust strategies based on data, trends, and businessProgramming & ActivationsLead the development and execution of on-property programming, including culinary experiences, wellness activations, entertainment, and cultural eventsBuild and manage a comprehensive programming calendar across all outlets and guest touchpointsCollaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of all activations and eventsEnsure all programming aligns with brand positioning and enhances the overall guest experienceCreative Strategy & Campaign DevelopmentTranslate property initiatives into fully integrated marketing campaigns across social media, website, email, SMS, and on-property collateralWrite and manage creative briefs to guide execution by corporate marketing and creative teamsEnsure consistency of messaging, visual identity, and storytelling across all channelsPartner with corporate teams to ensure timely execution and alignment with broader brand campaignsCross-Functional CollaborationServe as the primary marketing partner to Food & Beverage, Spa, Wellness, Membership, Rooms, Revenue, and Sales teamsLead regular cross-functional meetings to align on upcoming initiatives, priorities, and marketing needsCommunicate all property programming and activations to corporate marketing teams to ensure appropriate visibility and amplificationSupport property leadership with marketing insights, recommendations, and execution plansPartnerships & Community EngagementIdentify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships, including amenity partners, wellness collaborators, and local and national brandsNegotiate partnership agreements and oversee execution of partnership deliverablesDevelop community-driven initiatives that enhance brand awareness and guest engagementMaintain relationships with key partners and identify new opportunities for collaborationPublic Relations & Influencer StrategyManage the property’s public relations agency, including strategy, communication, and deliverablesCoordinate media opportunities, press visits, and editorial placementsOversee influencer strategy, including outreach, vetting, hosting, and content alignmentEnsure consistent brand storytelling across PR, influencer, and owned channelsContent Development & PhotographyOversee all photography and videography for the property, including shoot planning, shot lists, and vendor coordinationManage relationships with photographers, videographers, and content creatorsEnsure a consistent and elevated visual identity across all marketing channelsMaintain organized content libraries to support ongoing marketing needsDigital Presence & Guest CommunicationsOversee updates to website content, Happenings pages, and booking platformsEnsure all guest-facing communications, including pre-arrival and in-stay messaging, accurately reflect current offeringsOptimize how experiences are presented digitally to drive engagement and conversionProject & Operational ManagementManage a high volume of concurrent marketing initiatives, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are metCoordinate across internal teams and external vendors to execute campaigns and activationsOversee marketing and programming budgets, ensuring efficient use of resourcesMaintain organization and documentation of marketing plans, calendars, and deliverablesEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field.7+ years of experience in marketing, hospitality, lifestyle, or experiential brandsExperience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channelsExperience with event programming, partnerships, or experiential marketing preferredProven ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environmentSkills/Specialized KnowledgeStrong understanding of integrated marketing channels, including social, email, web, SMS, and PRAbility to translate business objectives into effective marketing strategies and campaignExcellent project management and organizational skillsStrong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teamsExperience managing external partners, agencies, and vendorsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, high-touch hospitality environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to brand standardsPhysical DemandsAbility to sit or stand for extended
