JOB SUMMARY:A Food Runner is responsible for supporting waitstaff in carrying beverage and meal items to designed tables. Their duties include communicating with waiters to determine their needs, carrying food items from the expediting counter to the proper table.POSITION AUTHORITY:The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.POSITION GUIDELINES:Position guidelines include but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Deliver food orders to customers quickly and accuratelyUphold sanitation and food safety principlesEnsure customers experience is satisfactoryRelay report of customers satisfaction to the servers and managementEnsure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food upon delivery of food.Handle various impromptu tasks in the dining room and kitchenMust be able to read food service order ticketsCoordinates with line kitchen and wait staff for the best delivery of products and serviceKeeps the expo line clean, organized, and ready for serviceCoordinated with the back of the house kitchen staff to ensure the product meets expectationsMust be able to carry food service traysWorks well with others to ensure guest satisfactionAny other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody GardensEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:No prior experience requiredMust obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification before beginning workREQUIRED SKILLS:Must be reliable and responsiblePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to stand and walk 8-10 hours a dayMust be able to lift 25+ pounds
