Senior AI Security EngineerLocation: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite per Week)Duration: 12-Month Contract with Potential Extension and/or ConversionPosition OverviewOur client is seeking a Senior AI Security Engineer to support the secure adoption and deployment of Generative AI technologies across the enterprise. This role will partner with Information Protection, Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, Data Protection, and business stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are implemented securely, responsibly, and in alignment with enterprise risk and governance standards.The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience deploying AI solutions while also understanding the unique security, privacy, and governance challenges associated with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI platforms. This individual will help evaluate AI use cases, identify risks, define security controls, and guide teams in the secure deployment of technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI-driven solutions.This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong communication skills, technical depth, and the ability to translate complex AI security concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the enterprise subject matter expert for GenAI security, leading strategy, architecture, and governance for Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance, Insider Risk Management, and Data Loss Prevention capabilities supporting AI adoption.Lead the design, implementation, and governance of security controls for GenAI and Copilot platforms, ensuring compliance with enterprise data protection, privacy, regulatory, and risk management requirements.Develop and manage Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance, Insider Risk Management (IRM), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to detect risky AI interactions, protect sensitive data, and mitigate insider threats across AI-enabled services.Support the secure deployment and adoption of Generative AI solutions across the organization.Partner with business, engineering, cloud, and security teams to assess AI use cases and associated risks.Define and implement security controls for AI platforms and AI-enabled applications.Evaluate AI architectures and deployment models to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.Conduct security reviews of AI initiatives involving tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and other LLM-based platforms.Identify risks related to data exposure, model misuse, prompt injection, information leakage, access controls, and third-party AI services.Collaborate with AWS and cloud engineering teams to secure AI workloads and supporting infrastructure.Develop guidance, best practices, and governance documentation for AI technologies.Support risk assessments, audits, and regulatory reviews associated with AI implementations.Partner with Information Protection and Risk Management teams to align AI initiatives with enterprise governance frameworks.Stay current on emerging AI threats, vulnerabilities, regulations, and industry best practices.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Cloud Security, Application Security, Information Security, or a related discipline.Hands-on experience deploying or supporting AI, Machine Learning, or Generative AI solutions in an enterprise environment.Strong understanding of AI/LLM security concepts and risks.Experience assessing and securing cloud-hosted applications and services.Knowledge of security principles including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, secure architecture, and risk management.Experience working with business and technical stakeholders to implement security requirements.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.Experience performing risk assessments and developing security recommendations.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft AI services, Azure AI, or Microsoft 365 security capabilities.Experience with Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar Generative AI platforms.Experience deploying or securing AI solutions within AWS environments.Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, and emerging regulatory requirements.Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), information protection, and privacy controls.Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or another highly regulated industry.Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent.
