Operations Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager oversees the organizational activities at Smart1. The Manager consults and provides status in various operational areas to include human resources, contracts, finance, technical solutions and compliance to the President and Leadership team at Smart1. The Manager supervises, hires, trains employees, manages quality assurance programs, and strategizes process improvements. The Manager manages and directs the operation’s staff.
As the Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:
Recruiting, selecting, training, assigning work, schedules, coaching, counseling, and discipline employees.
Communicate job expectations by planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete operational action plans and budget; implement productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; and identify trends.
Analyze, improve, and implement organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, to comply with government laws and regulations.
Establish contracts and pricing and ensure proper maintenance; serve as the primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health, and safety agencies.
Prepare, review, and track all Smart1 invoices and contracts with customers and sub-contractors and ensure they are submitted for payment. Serve as primary point of contact for customer issues related to invoices and contracts.
Communicate customer issues with the President and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
Work closely with the President and other Managers to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
Work closely with the Business Manager and staff to perform analysis of Smart1 inventory to ensure effective inventory use; by purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reducing unnecessary expenses.
Update job knowledge by continually participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
Knowledge of contracts and invoicing.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Ability to problem solve and respond to critical situations and corporate-wide strategic initiatives.
Ability to travel, as needed.
Knowledge and ability to use Excel, Word, SharePoint. Power Point and other software tools.
