Qualifications & SkillsA PhD in organic chemistry with 7-10 years of relevant small molecule development and GMP manufacturing experience in the pharmceutical industry, preferably within a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). Experience in managing and fast growing teams or departments, as well as moving strategy to action are essential.Key Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Site Director and Business Development, evaluate the feasibility of new projects from a technical, economic, and timeline perspective, ensuring alignment with company strategy. Assign research projects to R&D teams to optimize the use of available personnel and equipment, while ensuring project progress with particular focus on cost control, timelines, and risk mitigation. Propose, execute and monitor the annual R&D budget based on company strategy, available resources and operational needs. Ensure that all company tools and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are properly implemented and propose procedures to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of R&D team management, as well as process efficiency, safety and quality compliance Oversee the technical and professional development of R&D colleagues, in collaboration with the Site Director, Human Resources and corporate programs. Ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements related to R&D activities.
